This course asks students to learn GIS through coding. The course mainly teaches the basics of pandas and geopandas, with many different applications such as drawing maps, pivoting the results by different spatial aggregations to even managing databases using Duck DB (my colleague covers DBs tho!).

TFCENV

The TFC (Tertiary Foundation Course) for prospective ENV (Environment) students is a course on which students who have not completed their National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 (equivalent to A-levels in England) can study. It is known as the 13th year of secondary school. From this course I teach the basics of GIScience to show the use case of cartography, the concepts of geomatics and the applications using such GIS tools in the real world.
